an integrated cooling fan or an optional thermostat-controlled 50W heater, this
weather-resistant enclosure helps protect valuable audio equipment from the elements,
unauthorized access, and accidental damage while maintaining reliable performance
year-round.
Durable Weather-Resistant Construction
Built from a rugged PC+ABS polycarbonate and ABS blend, the enclosure delivers
outstanding impact resistance, UV stability, and long-term outdoor durability. The
gasketed hinged cover is secured with dual stainless steel quick-release latches, while
an integrated keyed security screw and padlock provision provide additional protection
for installations in public or unattended locations.
Custom Mounting Designed for the SONOS AMP
Unlike universal enclosures, the NP17-SON1 includes an internal mounting system
designed specifically for the Sonos Amp. The included locking cam secures the device
inside the enclosure, preventing movement during operation while still allowing quick
removal when servicing or upgrading equipment.
Simple Plug-and-Play Installation
Installation is fast and requires no internal electrical wiring. Two factory-wired
120VAC outlets allow the Sonos Amp and additional accessories to be powered inside
the enclosure. An integrated 5-foot power cord plugs directly into a standard outlet,
while cable entry grommets simplify routing audio and network cables into the
enclosure.
Advanced Temperature Management
To help maintain optimal operating temperatures, the enclosure features dual
ventilated openings with protective rain shields and a thermostat-controlled cooling
fan. The fan automatically activates when internal temperatures rise and turns off
after the enclosure cools, helping improve equipment reliability without constant
operation.
For installations exposed to colder climates, the NP17H-SON1 model includes a thermostat-controlled 50W heater. The heater
is engineered with an internal design that helps minimize surface temperatures on the accessible sides of the enclosure for added safety. It automatically activates when the internal temperature drops to 41°F (5°C) and shuts off once the temperature reaches 59°F (15°C), ensuring consistent and efficient temperature regulation.
Flexible Mounting Options
The enclosure can be mounted directly to walls using the external mounting feet or
paired with optional pole-mount hardware for utility poles and posts. Internal
mounting points are also provided for applications requiring concealed or more secure
installations.
