Polycarbonate enclosures are used in harsh environments such as waste water treatment, irrigation/water control, solar/wind, chemical plants, and outdoor wireless installations. Compared to other non-metallic enclosures they are more impact resistant, durable (UV resistant), and easier to modify. Polycarbonate enclosures carry a minimum NEMA 4X rating with some offering minimal submersion protections up to 6P.
