    Make Sure to Connect the Shield
    We have used the Raytek RAYMI3COMM Communications Box for two applications and found they definitely work better when you keep the shield intact over the entire length of cable and connect the shield properly to the case of the RAYMI3COMM.

    The Raytek literature does not identify the functions of the cable conductors and you shouldn't cut into the cable, but we did and it still works if you're careful with the connections and the shield integrity.

    WHT = 2.5V Power to I/R Sensor

    YEL = Serial temperature data, 1

    GRN = Serial temperature data, 2

    BRN = Ground



    Not sure which serial stream goes with the I/R temperature data and which goes with the ambient temperature data (?).

    These communication boxes are rugged and reliable. Often mounted discretely. We also use them in groups of 3. Nice to see the data locally as well.
